​Workshop description and agenda:
This 2-day workshop is designed to introduce you to the basics of painting cat portraits and cat sketches in watercolor. The objective is to simplify pet painting process and equip you with all the necessary tools and techniques to be comfortable representing cat anatomy, body shapes, body positions, fur textures, and suggesting cat's mood and temper.

Day 1: Basics of cat watercolor sketch.
Main composition elements, foreground and background, shades. 
Perspective (YES! Even in cat painting).
Basic cat anatomy and ways to suggest different body parts.
Tonal values, shapes and texture.
Ways to depict fur patterns.
Water control and right amount of pigment.
Outline drawing vs suggesting a silhouette.
Soft and hard edges.
Brush strokes to create the desired shape. 
Shades for multi dimensional painting.
The power of white highlights and dark accents.
Watercolor granulation to create special visual effects.

Day 2: Cats and flowers. Including cats in more complex compositions.
Basics of composition and cat as your focal point.
Creating visual harmony between the animal and the flowers (or other elements of still life).
Multiple ways to suggest mood of the animal.

What's included in the recordings: 2 workshop days.
Duration: 4 hours 50 mins.
Demos: 6 demos (images to the right).
Additional exercises: cats' anatomy, fur textures, cat eye study, detailed head study. Bonus: additional flower study (roses).
Format: Zoom quality video, raw and unedited with original video and audio.
Personal feedback: Please note personal feedback from the instructor WILL NOT BE PROVIDED with the purchase of the recordings. Original workshop critiques are not included in the recordings for ethical reasons to protect privacy of the students who participated in the workshop.
